World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF) was the predecessor to the WWF and WWE. Founded in 1963 when Capitol Wrestling Corporation left the NWA, it featured Bruno Sammartino, Pedro Morales, and Bob Backlund as champions before becoming the WWF in 1979.
