Impact Wrestling, officially known as TNA Wrestling, is an American professional wrestling promotion based in Nashville, Tennessee. Founded by Jeff Jarrett and Jerry Jarrett in May 2002, the promotion launched in the wake of World Championship Wrestling's closure in 2001. It initially operated as NWA: Total Nonstop Action, affiliated with the National Wrestling Alliance, before dropping the NWA branding in 2004. The promotion was purchased by Anthem Sports & Entertainment, a Canadian media company, in 2017, at which point it was rebranded to Impact Wrestling. It returned to the TNA name in January 2024.
For much of the 2000s and early 2010s, TNA was considered the second-largest professional wrestling promotion in the United States behind WWE, drawing notable talent from WCW, WWE, and ECW, including Sting, Kurt Angle, and Jeff Hardy, alongside homegrown stars such as AJ Styles and Samoa Joe. Following financial difficulties and the loss of its Spike TV contract in 2014, the promotion experienced a period of decline before stabilizing through international distribution and its parent company's acquisition of AXS TV. The establishment of All Elite Wrestling in 2019 repositioned TNA as the third-largest promotion in the country.
