About

Chikara Pro Wrestling was an American professional wrestling promotion founded in 2002 by Mike Quackenbush. Based in Philadelphia, Chikara was known for its family-friendly presentation, colorful characters, comic book-inspired storylines, and unique approach to professional wrestling.

The promotion featured innovative concepts including season-based storytelling, the annual King of Trios tournament (featuring three-person teams), and a diverse roster of characters including luchadore-style masked wrestlers, supernatural entities, and comedic performers. Notable alumni include Cesaro, Drew Gulak, Chuck Taylor, and Orange Cassidy.

Chikara gained a devoted cult following for its creative approach to wrestling. The promotion closed in 2020 following controversy surrounding founder Mike Quackenbush. Despite its ending, Chikara influenced numerous modern wrestlers and promotions with its innovative storytelling approach.
