New Japan Pro Wrestling
New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) is a Japanese professional wrestling promotion founded by Antonio Inoki on January 13, 1972. It is the largest wrestling promotion in Japan and is considered one of the most prestigious wrestling companies in the world.
NJPW is known for its strong-style wrestling, a hard-hitting and realistic approach to professional wrestling. The promotion has produced legendary wrestlers including Antonio Inoki, Giant Baba, Riki Choshu, Tatsumi Fujinami, Keiji Mutoh, Shinya Hashimoto, Masahiro Chono, Kensuke Sasaki, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Shinsuke Nakamura, Kazuchika Okada, and Kenny Omega.
The company's major events include Wrestle Kingdom (held annually at the Tokyo Dome), the G1 Climax tournament, the New Japan Cup, and the Best of the Super Juniors tournament. NJPW expanded internationally in the 2010s, establishing NJPW of America and running events throughout the United States. The company is owned by Bushiroad.
