Biography

Nhooph Al-Areebi (born November 23, 1994, in Toronto, Ontario) is a Canadian professional wrestler of Iraqi and Syrian descent. After being inspired to pursue professional wrestling while watching Beth Phoenix and Mickie James compete at a Raw taping in 2008, she went on to attend George Brown College, where she studied nursing, before committing fully to a career in the ring. She began her professional wrestling career in January 2013, debuting for Squared Circle Wrestling in Toronto under the ring name Jasmin Areebi. During her time on the independent circuit, she competed for several promotions across Canada and the United States, including Pure Wrestling Association, Absolute Intense Wrestling, and New England Championship Wrestling.

In March 2015, Al-Areebi signed a developmental contract with WWE, making her first appearance at NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable in May of that year. She was later given the ring name Aliyah, under which she became best known during her tenure with the company from 2015 to 2023. During that time, she became a WWE Women's Tag Team Champion and set the record for the fastest victory in WWE history at 3.17 seconds. She has since returned to performing on the independent circuit under her real name.
