About

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is an American integrated media and entertainment company primarily known for professional wrestling. Founded in 1952 as Capitol Wrestling Corporation, it became the World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF) in 1963, World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in 1979, and was rebranded as WWE in 2002.

WWE is the largest professional wrestling promotion in the world, operating international tours with over 500 live events per year. The company produces its flagship weekly programs Raw and SmackDown, along with the premium live event WrestleMania, the biggest annual event in professional wrestling.

WWE has helped launch the careers of wrestling legends including Hulk Hogan, The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, John Cena, The Undertaker, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, and countless others. The company went public on the New York Stock Exchange in 1999 and merged with UFC parent company Endeavor in 2023 to form TKO Group Holdings.
