Richard Henry Blood Sr., born February 28, 1953, is an American retired professional wrestler best known by his ring name Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat. Trained by Verne Gagne and The Iron Sheik, he began his professional wrestling career in 1976 and went on to compete for several decades before retiring in 2022. Billed from Honolulu, Hawaii, Steamboat is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential professional wrestlers of all time.
Throughout his career, Steamboat made his mark across several major promotions, including the American Wrestling Association, Jim Crockett Promotions, World Championship Wrestling, and the World Wrestling Federation. In JCP and WCW, he captured numerous championships, including the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, four United States Heavyweight Championships, four World Television Championships, twelve World Tag Team Championships, and two Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Championships. In the WWF, he held the Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009. Following his in-ring career, Steamboat remained connected to the wrestling world, signing with All Elite Wrestling.
