Biography

Christopher Keith Irvine, born November 9, 1970, is an American-Canadian professional wrestler, rock musician, and actor better known by his ring name Chris Jericho. He began his professional wrestling career in 1990, trained by Brad Young, Ed Langley, Keith Hart, and Stu Hart, and performs in character as billed from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Throughout the 1990s, Jericho worked for organizations including Extreme Championship Wrestling, World Championship Wrestling, and promotions across Canada, Japan, and Mexico, before debuting in the World Wrestling Federation in the latter half of 1999. In 2001, he became the first Undisputed WWF Champion by defeating Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock on the same night, simultaneously becoming the final holder of the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. He headlined multiple pay-per-view events during his WWF/WWE tenure and was inducted into the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame in 2010. Among his many accolades, he holds a record nine WWE Intercontinental Championship reigns and became the fourth Grand Slam Champion in company history. As of January 2019, he is signed to All Elite Wrestling. Noted for his "rock star" persona and ability to reinvent his character, Jericho is widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time.
