Biography

William Jason Reso, born November 30, 1973, is a Canadian professional wrestler and actor who competes under the ring name Christian Cage. Trained by Dory Funk Jr. and Ron Hutchison, he made his professional debut in 1995, initially working Canadian independent promotions in both singles and tag team competition alongside his best friend Edge. In 1998, he signed a developmental contract with the WWF and debuted as Christian, capturing the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship in his very first match with the company. He and Edge became one of the most celebrated tag teams of the Attitude Era, winning the World Tag Team Championship seven times and earning widespread recognition for their participation in Tables, Ladders, and Chairs matches. After the team split in 2001, Christian went on to hold the European, Hardcore, and Intercontinental Championships as a singles competitor.

Following his WWE departure in 2005, Reso signed with TNA as Christian Cage and won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship twice. He returned to WWE in 2009, capturing the ECW Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship twice each before retiring in 2014 due to concussion issues, having become the 23rd Triple Crown Champion and 11th Grand Slam Champion in company history. He resumed his career in AEW in March 2021, subsequently winning the Impact World Championship, the AEW TNT Championship twice, and the AEW World Trios Championship. Across WWE, TNA, and AEW, he has held 27 total championships, including seven world titles.
