Kane

Biography

Glenn Thomas Jacobs, born on April 26, 1967, is an American professional wrestler, actor, and politician best known by his ring name Kane. He began his professional wrestling career in 1992 on the independent circuit, competing in promotions such as Smoky Mountain Wrestling and the United States Wrestling Association before joining the World Wrestling Federation in 1995. Trained by Dean Malenko, Jeff Bradley, and Ray Candy, Jacobs portrayed several characters in the WWF until 1997, when he was repackaged as Kane, a masked, horror-themed character portrayed as the younger half-brother of the Undertaker and son of Paul Bearer.

Kane became a central figure during the WWF's Attitude Era of the late 1990s and early 2000s, defeating Stone Cold Steve Austin for the WWF Championship in his first pay-per-view main event at King of the Ring in June 1998. Over the course of his career, he became a three-time world champion, a 12-time world tag team champion, and a WWE Grand Slam Champion. He holds several Royal Rumble records, including the most appearances at 20 and the highest cumulative eliminations at 46. Kane was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2021. Beyond wrestling, Jacobs was elected mayor of Knox County, Tennessee in 2018.
