Mick Foley

Biography

Michael Francis Foley, born June 7, 1965, is an American professional wrestler, author, and comedian who began his wrestling career in 1986 under the tutelage of trainer Dominic DeNucci. Over the course of a career that spanned until 2012, Foley worked for major promotions including the WWF, WCW, ECW, and TNA, as well as numerous promotions in Japan. He is widely regarded as one of the biggest stars of the WWF's Attitude Era and headlined WrestleMania's 16th edition. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2013 and has since signed with All Elite Wrestling.

Foley is perhaps best known for wrestling under multiple distinct personas, collectively dubbed the "Three Faces of Foley." His primary character in WCW and ECW was Cactus Jack, a brutal brawler known for using barbed wire and other sharp objects. Upon joining the WWF in 1996, he introduced the masked, masochistic Mankind, followed by the free-spirited Dude Love. All three personas famously appeared in the 1998 Royal Rumble, making Foley the only competitor to enter the same match three times under different characters.

Throughout his career, Foley captured numerous championships, including the WWF Championship, TNA World Heavyweight Championship, and WWF Hardcore Championship, among others. His Hell in a Cell match against The Undertaker is widely acknowledged as the greatest of its kind, and his willingness to endure punishment earned him the enduring moniker "the Hardcore Legend."
