Biography

Paul Donald Wight II, born February 8, 1972, is an American professional wrestler and actor who competes in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) under his real name. Trained by Larry Sharpe and Thrasher, he began his wrestling career in 1994 after playing college basketball at Wichita State University. He is billed from Tampa, Florida.

Wight rose to prominence in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) beginning in 1995, where he performed under the ring name The Giant and was initially introduced as the son of André the Giant. He departed WCW in early 1999 to join the World Wrestling Federation, where he became known as The Big Show, a name he carried through his tenure with WWE until 2021. Across WCW and WWF/WWE, he accumulated 23 total championships, including seven world title reigns spanning the WCW World Heavyweight, WWF/WWE, World Heavyweight, and ECW Championships, making him the only wrestler to have held all four titles. He is recognized as the 24th Triple Crown and 12th Grand Slam winner in WWE history.

Beyond wrestling, Wight has pursued an acting career, appearing in films such as Jingle All the Way and The Waterboy, television series including Star Trek: Enterprise and Burn Notice, and held lead roles in the WWE Studios film Knucklehead and the Netflix sitcom The Big Show Show.
