Roman Reigns

Leati Joseph Anoaʻi, better known by his ring name Roman Reigns, was born on May 25, 1985, in Pensacola, Florida. A member of the prominent Anoaʻi wrestling family, he trained under Steve Keirn before being signed by WWE in 2010. Prior to his wrestling career, Anoaʻi played college football at Georgia Tech and had brief NFL stints with the Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguars in 2007, before playing a full season with the CFL's Edmonton Eskimos in 2008.

Reigns made his main roster debut in 2012 as part of The Shield alongside Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, with whom he held the WWE Tag Team Championship once. Following the group's disbandment in 2014, he transitioned to singles competition. From 2014 to 2020, WWE positioned him as a heroic character, during which he won the WWE Championship three times, the Universal Championship once, and the 2015 Royal Rumble. Repackaged as a villain from 2020 to 2024, Reigns earned widespread acclaim, recording a 1,316-day reign as WWE Universal Champion — the longest in that title's history.

Reigns has headlined WrestleMania a record eleven times and holds the distinctions of being WWE's 28th Triple Crown Champion and 17th Grand Slam Champion. He was ranked number one on Pro Wrestling Illustrated's PWI 500 list in both 2016 and 2022, and was named Sports Illustrated's Wrestler of the Year in 2021.
